From Three Friends to Global Movement
In 1957, George Verwer and two friends took a mission trip to Mexico with a simple desire, to share God's love with those who had never heard it. What began as three young men's passion has multiplied into a global movement of believers sharing that same heart for the unreached. Today, OM spans continents, cultures, and generations, all united by one vision: vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached.
A Global Family
Today, more than 4,500 OM workers representing 125 nationalities are serving in partnership across over 147 countries, including aboard OM's ships. From the streets of major cities to remote villages, from university campuses to refugee camps, OMers are actively working to establish vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the world's least-reached communities.

It Began with Prayer
Our story traces back to the faithful prayers of Dorothea Clapp, an American housewife who prayed consistently for students in her local high school in the 1950s. She asked God to touch the world through their lives, and God answered her prayers in ways she could never have imagined.
Today, that same spirit of prayer continues to fuel our global mission.
