Taiwan Christmas Outreach 2012: Taiwan

Over 93% of Taiwanese are adherents of a combination of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. Evangelical Christian is less than 3%. The most unreached people group in Taiwan is Hakka. The population of Hakka Christian is only 0.3%. Therefore, we are going to send a team to a small Hakka town to reach out Hakka.

This outreach has three core purposes:
1. To challenge participants in their personal growth and purpose in life by actively experiencing missions in Taiwan.
2. To broadly reach out to Hakka people and tell them about Jesus.
3. To encourage existing the Hakka Christians to get more involved in active ministry.

This is a great opportunity for those people with a heart for Taiwan and a desire to use their God-given talents to serve. It is also a meaningful time to meet the needy and disadvantaged minority, to warmth their hearts with God’s love.

Ministry Details

The outreach will consist of daily morning devotion, tracting, street caroling, friendship evangelism, testimony sharing and Christmas party.

Participant Profile

OM Taiwan is looking for people that love Jesus and have a desire to share the Gospel. No previous experience is necessary as some coaching will be provided. The team language is English and Chinese.

Accommodation:

Japanese traditional 'tatami' rooms with mattresses. No heater available in the rooms.

Travel:

All the participants will meet up at Tao Yuan International Airport around 3-5pm on Dec. 22 and leave Taiwan after 3 pm on Jan. 1st. OM Taiwan Staffs will pick them up from the Airport and send them to the airport.
Accommodation (1000NT per night) is available before and after the outreach if the participant’s flights arrive early or leave late. Prior notification is required.

Health:

Participants need to be in Good Health as weather will be cold and damp. OM head offices should inform us if there are participants with health or dietary issues. Participants need to have sufficient travel and health insurance for Taiwan.

Visa:

Only a TOURIST visa is required. Taiwan has a visa exemption relationships with many countries so please look up your country here:
