Summer Camps 2020 in Norway: Norway

The OM Norway Short term summer team will be helping at two summer camps: Saron's Valley + Visjon. Both events are annual summer family camps committed to inspire and renew Norwegian Christians all ages.

The camps combines recreation and fellowship, and offers a varied program that includes large family gatherings, concerts, and other activities. One of the hallmarks is that families can get together and know that there will be high quality activities for all ages.

The price quoted here does NOT include the costs of flights and travel insurance, but does include a $150 non refundable deposit.

Ministry Details

The children and youth programs has become one of the summer's highlights for the kids. Its goal is to build open communities where children and adolescents are seen, meet Jesus and are equipped to live as his followers. The programs provides a wide range of exciting, engaging and fun activities. You will help program leaders with activities for the children. You may also help with sales and service in the café/kiosk/grill, and other practical jobs.

In addition, the OM team plans to do evangelism in nearby towns, inviting camp participants to join in.

Participant Profile

Have faith in Jesus, love children and youth, speak and understand the English language.


Participants will sleep on mattresses on the floor in a classroom, or in tents, if you can bring your own tent, sleeping bag and outdoor mattress. If accommodation exceptions are needed, please notify us in advance. This will result in additional cost.


Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. Any other food from café, kiosk or grill is at your own cost. Allergies and food intolerances can be accommodated for, but please notify us in advance.


Fly into Stavanger, Kristiansand, Oslo Torp or Oslo (OSL) Gardermoen airport EARLY on 3 July. Train to Gyland, Norway. OM Personnel will meet you there and transport you to Saron's Dal, the first camp location.

Depart from Larvik (2nd camp location) by train to the airport 20 July, no earlier than 9:00 a.m., if possible. When booking your flights, remember you will need to take the train to the airport. The train ride from the 2nd camp to Oslo Torp (TRF) is one hour; to Oslo Gardermoen is two hours.


Be in good health and able to sleep on the floor or ground. Expect to be physically active throughout the day.


Some people do not need a visa to visit Norway because they hold a passport from a country that Norway has a visa exemption agreement with. This also applies if you have a residence permit in an EU/EEA country or if you have a special passport. Check here to see if you do NOT need a visa: Those who do not need a visa to visit Norway, can stay here for up to 90 days. •You must have a passport which is valid for at least six months longer than the date you plan to leave Norway. Early arrivals and later departures will need to arrange their own accommodation at an additional expense.
