To give support to a local Church that is starting to reach the least reached areas in Panama. Plant 3 new churches in 3 different towns.

This ministry offers an opportunity for future missionaries who want to be involved in church planting among the least reached or that have a passion to see God´s Kingdom grow among the nations.

The price quoted here does NOT include the costs of flights and travel insurance, but does include a $150 non refundable deposit.

Ministry Details

The participants will have a unique experience to reach out to the least reached areas of Panama and help plant new Churches.

You will be visiting homes trying to establish relationships with people in the community, engaging with them, building a relationship and praying with them.

You will also participate in:

the discipleship of new believers and others if possible
Evangelism in local schools
Evangelism in the towns at events such as sports and arts events
Organize prayer time with the community of local believers
Preparing devotions
Potentially preaching at the church or during a special outreach that the church may organize

The participants will be traveling from Chitre, which is the city in this province, to the 3 different towns.

The pace of life in these communities is slow and calm. Do not expect a lot of activities, it is more about engaging with the community and building relationships.

Participant Profile

The Participant should be able to hold a conversation in Spanish to engage with the community.

The Participants must respect the culture and the values of the community. Having a learning attitude and the desire to understand the community is key. The ability to connect with people is very important, in order to establish a relationships.

Teamwork and communication skills is also important. The participant must be proactive in creating activities and reaching out in the community, but any new activity must have the consent of the Pastor and the OM Panama Leader or Team Leaders.


The participant will be staying at local believers' homes some days and at church building other days.


The Food will be provided by the church and/or local believers. The Food will be typical Panamanian food. Unfortunately, we cannot cater for special dietary requirements.


The cost does not cover the transportation from the Airport to Panama city and from Panama city to the Airport when the participant is departing. This will be an additional cost.

Participants will need to fly to Tocumen International Airport and will take a bus to Chitre (5 hours) guided by an OM Panama member.

The church partner will provide transportation most of the time, but participants may need to use public transport at times to get between towns and this is included in the cost.


The Participant must be in good health. Participants should NOT have allergies to animals or dust.


Panama is a very open country and allows many individuals to stay for 3 months without a visa, but the individual is responsible to check the visa requirements from his or her country.


The Participant must NOT have Piercings, Tattoos must be covered, NO hair coloured with green, purple or artificial white, NO Bikinis for swimming, no short skirts, the shoulders must be covered. The participant will be working directly and under the supervision of the Pastor of the local church, who is planting 3 new churches in least reached areas in Panama, OM Panama will be supervising the participant engagement with the church planting project.

The Participant must bring a long skirt for women and long trousers for men especially for the church services. Some days, the participant could wear shorts but they should cover the knees.

The participant should bring a BIBLE, sleeping bag, clothes for any practical work (cleaning or construction if required by the Pastor), sun protector, hat or cap, boots, semi-formal shoes, sneakers(sport shoes), and blankets, comfortable trousers, mosquito repellent, towels, any personal item for self-care.
