Our small team in New Zealand is passionate about world missions. We are a missions organisation committed to resourcing, encouraging and mobilising Kiwis to find their place as missions workers in God's harvest field. We also support and act as the "home base" for the many Kiwi workers with OM around the world.
Like most other OM fields where there is an established church, OM New Zealand is run by a Director answerable to a board made up of local Christians. We are delighted to have a new Director as of 1st April, 2012 - Stephen Brandon. This is a real answer to prayer for us. Stephen is married to Varya, and they have two sons, Toby and Benjamin. Please pray for Stephen as in these early months of his new role. The OMNZ Board is comprised of Rob McArthur (Chair), Ron Lang (Secretary), Roger Larkins (Treasurer), Susie Burton and Jane Barlow.
Our office is based in Manukau: Dave Fern is responsible for Personnel and would love to help answer your questions about short and long term mission opportunities. Hsiu-Ju Fern is our book-keeper and will help you with any finance-related questions. Cecilia Tarrant assists Hsiu-Ju with finance data entry.
Along with being involved in local ministries, OM in New Zealand ran TEA until 2009, a 10-week discipleship and evangelism training programme in the great outdoors, as well as partnering with an English school for non-English-speaking future OM workers to improve their language ability.
